Album Review: 7/27 by Fifth Harmony

Okay, so I was originally going to do this as a video review, but it's starting to look like I might not get the privacy to do that. I still wanna do one, but we'll see when I have the time to do it. In the meantime, here are the notes I took track-by-track when I listened through this album last night. Spoilers: I didn't really care for it much.

Billboard Hot 100 Highlights June 4th, 2016

Yup. Turns out JT at the top couldn't last. Drake hype never dies, I suppose, as much as I would like it to. I'll still vouch for this, but I still don't think this is a worthy number 1. Plus I'm not really happy Views is getting a second wind; it really doesn't deserve one. The Top 10 was quiet though. HIGHLIGHTS TIME!

Album Review: Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande

You know, in between Meghan Meghans and Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande's new album is the only ray of sunlight I see in May's major album releases. There have been some good songs, but there have also been some red flags. So it is kinda hard to gauge what I'm getting myself into here. If I can, I would like to do a video review on this album as well, but we'll see how that goes. So, Grande, show me what you got.

Billboard Hot 100 Highlights May 28th, 2016

So it's been a little while since we had a song debut at Number 1. Can't say I'm surprised, even if this song is for a kids movie I don't see a lot of interest in. I'll give my thoughts about the song later, obviously, but I will say it kinda deserves the top spot more than One Dance. So there. HIGHLIGHTS TIME!

Album Review: Thank You by Meghan Trainor

This is gonna hurt. This is gonna hurt bad. I don't wanna do this. Actually no one's forcing me to do this, I don't have to do this. ... I'm gonna do this. Yeah. Gonna do this. Do your worst, Meghan Meghans. ... Wait, I didn't mean it. Crap!

Billboard Hot 100 Highlights May 21st, 2016

So, an explosion kinda happened, didn't it? You can expect that when you have two album bombs back to back essentially. Also Drake scores his first Number 1 as a lead artist. Unlike so many other people, I don't think this song is that bad. In fact I'm puzzled more people aren't just apathetic about it. But whatever. No point in having grievances with other peoples' opinions.

Like what I did last week with Lemonade, I will not give my thoughts on the new Drake songs here. You can take a look at my track-by-track review of Views if you're curious about that. I will still have my rankings for the new songs here. HIGHLIGHTS TIME!

Album Review: Views by Drake

Of all the big albums in 2016, I can't think of one that I'm less excited to listen to. Yes, that includes Meghan Meghans' upcoming release, which I think will be way worse than this. But this...all I've heard are mediocre things about it. Last week was exciting because Lemonade was critically acclaimed. But this? Its success is pretty much coasting on Drake's momentum at this point. I really hope the guy takes a break after this album. But until then, I'm here. I'm reviewing it. Deal with it.

If you wanna see how I'd rank these songs (except for Hotline Bling, Pop Style, One Dance, and Summers Over Interlude), check back tomorrow for Highlights.

Album Review: At Night, Alone. by Mike Posner

So, Mike Posner. Mike. Posner. Yeah. You know, I have some reasonably high hopes for this album. You know how much I love Ibiza. Well, mostly the remix. But still, that's more than enough promise. Besides, might as well do something I think I'll like before I tackle some stuff I know is gonna suck. Namely Meghan Meghans. Alright, Posner. You're no longer doing the hot boy shtick. Let's see what you got.

And yes I will be talking about the remixes.

Billboard Hot 100 Highlights May 14th, 2016

That's right. Two of the Prince songs from last week managed to become Top 10 hits again. Now that's pretty impressive. Plus we've got Beyoncé with an album bomb, and Drake still fighting for that Number 1 hit he's been craving for years now. I can't tell what any of this means, but man it's nice to see the Top 10 become interesting again.

PLEASE NOTE: I will not be talking about any of the tracks from Beyoncé's Lemonade here. Since every track from the album made it on the Hot 100, I just went ahead and reviewed the album yesterday. I will still rank the songs here, but I will not talk about them in depth here. Go look at that review if you're interested in my thoughts on the individual songs. Spoilers: I liked this album a lot.

Album Review: Lemonade by Beyoncé

I was going to wait to do this. But, it seems Billboard has forced my hand. Every single song from this album hit the Hot 100 at the same time. So, instead of listening to it in full tomorrow, I'm going to be listening to it today (on Monday) so I won't have to essentially review this album twice. Then again, I've heard good things about this album. Hopefully you don't disappoint. Even though I've never been a fan of Beyoncé.

I'll mention my favorite and least favorite tracks here, but if you wanna see how I'd rank all of them, wait for Highlights tomorrow.
