New Entries Ranked
1. Til It Happens To You
About time this got on here. When I first heard this song I got a lot more respect for Lady Gaga. My school makes it a point to spread awareness of sexual assault, but it didn't feel more real until this song. Thank you, Lady Gaga. Also this song should've beaten Sam Smith.
2. Piece By Piece
Hello American Idol. Also I think The Voice is coming back pretty soon. Joy. In all seriousness, though, this is really touching. Even Clarkson was choking up when she did it on Idol (which is the version I listened to). I like this.
3. Head Over Boots
The country instrumentation is some of the most authentic on the Hot 100 right now. The lyrics feel mundane though. Pretty much just sweet nothings. It's alright. I don't see this sticking with me that much.
4. Hello Friday
Gotta get down on Friday... Yeah, I like Friday too, but eh. My House grew on me, I don't think this will. Also was that a Limp Bizkit reference? Why? This isn't so much bad as it is just plain.
5. T-Shirt
Yeah man this still isn't country. Not even close. But even on the merits of what it really is it doesn't work. It's messy and overproduced. Also your T-shirt looks pretty ratty, not sure why you're obsessed with your girlfriend wearing it.
6. It's You
This is what you wanna follow up Pillowtalk with? Really? This is practically a lullaby with out-of-place trap percussion. There's nothing to grab on here, just a song that makes me feel like falling asleep.
7. Work From Home
Pretty sure I had the toy they're using to make this beat when I was three. And you know Britney Spears did this song three years ago, right? And it was better than this (still sucked). At least Ty Dolla $ign has more personality than Kid Ink? This song can die.
