New and Returning Entries Ranked

1. Good Old Days

It kinda looks like Macklemore's pushing this more than Glorious now. Which I think is smart. This is a better song and is a fresh start. Still very enjoyable and heartfelt. Mack's lyrics are descriptive and Kesha brings it all home. Nice little song. Hope it sticks around this time.

2. All On Me

A pop country song against a sea of trap rap. Alright. And between the returning You Broke Up With Me, this is far and above the superior song. The lyrics are simple but romantic, the production is pleasant, and Devin Dawson is a charismatic performer. It's not overly groundbreaking or special, but it's nice nonetheless. Solid tune.

3. Mayores

Since the last time I listened to this song, I learned that the lyrics are about how Becky G likes men who are older than her. That's definitely a case where I am grateful I can't speak Spanish. Doesn't stop the song from souring on me a bit either, unfortunately. Still good, but man, that premise...

4. Ghostface Killers

Bumping. This has the best beat of the songs from this album I've heard. It's simple but it's menacing and cool. Offset goes off, delivering kind of an ear worm of a chorus. Savage, while better than usual, hinders the song with his verse, though. But at least he's not on the chorus like with Rap Saved Me. Travis Scott seems a bit unnecessary though, since with autotune, Offset already sounds a lot like Travis anyway. Also, "ride suicides, we gon keep this s*** alive." That's a line.

5. High End

So Heartbreak on a Full Moon just came out and I'm not gonna listen to it. Because it's 46 tracks long. And I imagine this would be one of the better songs, thanks to the production. It's still okay, despite containing Future.

6. Rap Saved Me

This production is kinda cool, actually. It kinda jumps from ear to ear, but it's got a cool melody. Offset's on point on his verse, and Quavo's...Quavo. 21 is the obvious weak link, though, and that becomes all the more noticeable as he handles the hook. Compared to the more energetic members of Migos, his typical energy-less delivery sticks out like a sore thumb, and not in a good way. Doesn't make the song more menacing, just pulls it down.

7. Ask Me How I Know

I still have to go to SoundCloud to actually listen to this song. Honestly I'm still not big on this. It's descriptive and sour, which ends up being a huge turnoff for me. But the guitars are nice.

8. Ric Flair Drip

Okay, despite being the song without 21 Savage, this seems more like a beat that Savage would use compared to Migos, or a member of Migos. Though maybe with a bit more texture. Still, compared to the other beats I'm hearing, this is kinda boring. The progression is pretty dinky, and it relies on bass that overpowers the main melody to exist. Offset does redeem it a bit though. Goddamn, that sextuplet flow. I didn't know he could do that.

9. MotorSport

So I can see a few different appeals to this song. One, it being a leadoff single, and seemingly like an attempt to remake Bad and Boujee. Two, Cardi B on a song with Offset, who recently got engaged. Good for them. Three, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj on a song together. If that's all your thing, good for you. Me personally, I'm not feeling it. The beat feels weak, depending on twinkling percussion as some centerpoint. The female rappers are alright, except when Nicki randomly references Rake It Up. Migos do their thing, sure. It's kinda dull overall. And it's too long. Migos can't do 5 minute songs.

10. My Choppa Hate N****s

I don't say the n-word. Bleh. Figures that the song from the album that doesn't have Offset would just be bland and uninteresting. Metro's production depends heavily on these creepy vocal samples, which is an okay musical idea. But Savage's typical delivery, complete with invoking a "Nightmare on Elm Street" still isn't good. A little better than some of Savage's other songs, but not by much.

11. You Broke Up With Me

Oh god, I was hoping this would stay out of my life. Still irritating and confused. One thing I didn't even mention last time is how the whistling is utterly butchered. And every part of the instrumental is just weak and willowy. Yeah, please kill it before it can get its second wind.
