New and Returning Entries Ranked

1. Walk On Water

When I first heard this song, I compared it to Macklemore, because of its conscious angle and pianos. But at this point, I think Em deserves to try something like this. He's struggled to stay relevant in recent years and has stumbled in mediocrity again with Phenomenal and Kings Never Die. He focuses on his own inferiority complex, with how critical he is of his own work and how he needs to be a perfectionist. And Beyoncé's hook is a great pair for it, tapping into her more soulful side. The pianos are simple but effective. It's not an Eminem I've heard very often, but at this point, it's the Em he needs to be. Great return. Looking forward to the album.

2. Too Much To Ask

Back again? I imagine Niall's performance of Seeing Blind with Maren Morris at the CMAs had something to do with this. But even then, I would've wanted Seeing Blind itself to chart. But eh. Still good.

3. Love.

So, this was released as a single. But at the beginning of October. So it's making a return now? It already had 20 weeks too. And there's no video. So this is surprising to see back at the very least. Still not one of the better tracks from Damn. though. Still chill and cool, but not one of the better ones.

4. Wanted You

Ever notice that NAV can only cross over when he's working with a more famous artist? Although it didn't work when he collabed with The Weeknd for some reason. And I wouldn't be surprised if people only cared about this song for Uzi, because he kinda steals the show here. He goes kinda crazy on his verses, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't kinda dig it. NAV is pretty boring. Really, the worst thing I can say is that it's boring at some points. It's catchy, not bad. Also I think I found the clean version by mistake.

5. Pick It Up

Nope. Can't do it. This beat is so plucky and nauseating that any hype factor is could have is null. Anyway, this Famous Dex guy...I've heard about him but he hasn't crossed over until now. He's got good technique to match A$AP Rocky I guess, but his voice is also kinda annoying. Not a fan. There's probably some clever lines in there though.

6. Female

Get this pandering crap outta here. Keith said that he made this song inspired by the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal, and I don't hear it. It's just so wishywashy and nondescript. Like, "hey girls, you're good too." No crap. Media's been pushing that for decades now. You're not a feminist. Instrumentation isn't great either.

7. Betrayed

I haven't been looking forward to this. I'll give it this, it does make me feel like I'm high and about to pass out, which I think was the intent. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. On top of the beat just being boring and depressing, Lil Xan himself is one of the mumbliest artists I've ever heard. He sounds like he's dying. Not good.

8. The Plan

Guys...I've stuck up for G-Eazy many times in the past. So believe me when I say it sucks to admit that this is garbage. The beat is sludgy and boring, reminding me a lot of Drake's Pop Style. Not to mention G opts this triplet flow that doesn't suit him. Just focus on No Limit, that song's great. Get it to Top 10.

9. Gummo

...this is a joke, right? This guy didn't make this being serious, right? This guy's shouting like crazy over a badly produced trap beat. That's not intimidating, that's just silly. This has to be a parody or something. Not to mention the fake blood effects in the video that remind me of The Slaughtering Grounds.
