New and Returning Entries Ranked

1. Water Under The Bridge

I remember this being one of my favorite songs from 25. And, well, it still holds up a year later. The guitars are suspenseful, Adele's voice is beautiful, and the chorus explodes perfectly. Please let this become a hit. It would be the best Adele hit from 25 by far.

2. We The People...

I've heard of these guys before, but never gave them a listen. Well, this is a good first impression. The beat is dark and gritty, yet catchy and sticky. The bars are pretty well-written too. The chorus in particular seems like a jab at Donald Trump, which I'm all for. Wouldn't mind this getting bigger.

3. Me and Your Mama

Aside from the intro going on for way longer than it needs to, this is pretty awesome. The guitars and organ remind me a lot of 70s psychedelic/metal. This almost feels too avant-garde for the charts in all honesty, but it's not like I'm gonna complain.

4. Hallelujah

Interestingly, even though many other artists have made it on the Hot 100 by covering this song, this is the first time the original has made it. Even though the song is 32 years old. Yeah, it's here thanks to the Christmas season and Cohen's death. I gotta say, this guy's voice is incredibly soothing. I never imagined this song being sung in a lower register before, but it certainly works. No wonder this became a classic.

5. Goosebumps

Just release a video already please. I would eat it up.

6. Shout Out To My Ex

Still catchy and fun. In fact I think I like it even more now.

7. Sex With Me

Okay but why?

8. A Guy With A Girl

Not bad. But it doesn't really stand out that much. Feels like a typical country love song. One I'm not likely to remember. Eh. Probably won't last anyway.

9. Call On Me

This is mildly catchy. It starts as an acoustic guitar folk thing, but then kinda shifts to an EDM song with trap percussion. It's not awful but it is kinda underwhelming. I guess this could grow on me, but right now, eh. The drop's also pretty shrill.

10. Bad and Boujee

Because Billboard rules dictate a Lil Uzi Vert song can't leave without another one immediately replacing it. The beat to this isn't interesting. The lyrics don't stand out. Drugs, being dangerous. Yawn. Uzi's performance is by far the worst on this song though.

  1. So I know you've done a few album reviews… Any chance of doing 24K Magic or Starboy?
