New and Returning Entries Ranked

1. Pick Up the Phone
This was a pleasant surprise, to say the least. Yeah, a lot of what works about this song is its tropical groove, but that definitely goes a long way to actually work with Young Thug of all people. Admittedly the lyrics don't stand out too much, but it's nothing offensive. I'm actually alright with this.

2. In The Name Of Love
Well it's certainly better than Animals. And pretty decent overall. Bebe Rexha's performance is good, production is decent, despite its wiry quality. I don't see myself coming back to this often, since EDM in this vein is getting increasingly common, but I'm alright with it.

3. Castaway
So this is back again. Maybe because summer vibes and we're approaching the end of the Summer. Is it weird that I'm actually looking forward to being in school again? Still, decent enough track. I don't have expectations for it but it was still nice to revisit.

4. Sex With Me
So, is Rihanna pushing this as a single or something? Promotional at least? Otherwise I'm not sure why it's coming back. Maybe just bubbling and got back on due to some dropouts. Anyway, still decent. Nothing mind-blowing but it's pleasant enough.

5. Rock On
I was relieved to find out this wasn't a David Essex cover. But, eh. Instrumentally it's fine. Typical country stuff. Tucker Beathard's voice though kinda kills the vibe. His twang sounds either forced or just unpleasant. I wanna like this more, but that one thing holds it back a lot.

6. Look Alive
I already talked about this song when I reviewed SremmLife 2. Yeah, I said this was one of the better songs, but it's still not that good. It's too low-key to be that fun. I guess I can kinda groove to this, but I still find this more boring than banging.

7. Hit Or Miss
Guessing this is back because of the new video. And maybe possibly Leafy. Damn you Leafy! This kid will be done actually charting after this, right? Please?

8. 1 Night
Really, public? You couldn't just let this turd die? Broccoli really has done more bad than good. Ugh...

9. Wishing
My only explanation for this gaining traction is that the world couldn't stand the fact that DJ Khaled was making actual quality music. Because this DJ Drama guy seems like a poor man's DJ Khaled. That almost hurts to say. Aggressively creepy R&B for the sake of being creepy. It's not sexy. Chris Brown and Lyquin sound too much like each other for it to matter. Overall this is just groanworthy.
