New and Returning Entries Ranked

1. Sky Walker

After the avalanche of Lil Uzi Vert, it is a relief to hear someone who can actually make spacey music awesome. It's a celebration track, but one with style and awesome vibes. Miguel sounds smooth, the beat is transcendent, and even Travis Scott is good here. I shouldn't get my hopes up after Coffee from 2015 flopped, but I love this and hope it does even better in the future.

2. No Fear

When I first heard DeJ Loaf I thought she was really annoying. But here...she kills this. In a good way. She's a /little/ off the beat, but other than that she gives a pretty sweet, smooth performance. And that chorus is catchy as hell with the little guitar lick and bassy synths. Pop perfection. Let's see this rise.

3. Greatest Love Story

Boy meets girl. And other stuff happens. This is sweet. Organic country that's pleasant. I like the singer's voice, I like the guitars and banjos. The lyrics are alright. This is the kind of country I can get behind.

4. Reminder

One more shot, eh? Honestly it might be time to move on from this single. We are apparently still in the Starboy era, after all. But eh. I always appreciate this song coming back.

5. I Could Use A Love Song

I wasn't happy to see this drop off. So glad to see it back. Maren Morris queen.

6. Questions

I'm alright with this. Again, one of the best Chris Brown songs in recent memory. Wouldn't mind sticking around and not getting killed off by an album bomb.

7. Somebody Else Will

It was kinda weird that this song dropped off all of a sudden. But it's back and...I have a feeling I like this less than I did before? The verses feel messy, the writing's not great, and it's a bit overdramatic given the premise. Not the worst country song currently charting, but I didn't miss it.

8. Relationship

Neeeeeeeext?

9. Bad At Love

God this melody is awkward. The production is so jumbled and the tone feels off. Like, you're bad at love, then why's everything moderately happy sounding? It's just...not very good. Why Halsey picked this for her next single over Strangers is beyond me.

10. Fix A Drink

Ugh. I was hoping we could've lost this. This still sounds like crap and squanders a potentially interesting lyrical idea to just make another generic country drinking song. Not a fan.

11. ...Ready For It?

Bad Blood Part 2. Now I liked Bad Blood despite its flaws, but this is much worse. Overblown production, Taylor's still not remotely believable trying to front like this. It doesn't flatter her voice. We do get a pretty good pre-chorus/chorus(?), but other than that this is awful. Really, really not looking forward to Reputation now.

12. These Heaux

This went about as well as I expected it to. As in it went horribly. It's almost like giving a girl who's only known for a meme a rap career is a bad idea. Danielle sounds like a female Rae Sremmurd, the beat is cheap, the writing is the shallow complaining about other girls that the title would suggest. As if I'm supposed to believe you don't fall under these same stereotypes. If we're sane, we'll let this die on its feet instead of giving it the satisfaction of even being mocked.

  1. I feel like the one person who doesn't hate the verses in ...Ready For It? at all.
