New and Returning Entries Ranked

1. Lush Life
Oh baby I have been waiting too long for this to cross over to the US. This song is incredibly addictive, and tightly controlled in all the right ways. Good job America. Now let's make this a hit before the end of the year.

2. La Bicicleta
Literally translates to "The Bicycle". It's nice to see Shakira do some actual Latin after "Try Everything". It doesn't seem to do anything particularly special, but it's still fun in its own right. Not sure the autotune on Shakira's voice in that one part was a good idea though.

3. Love Make the World Go Round
I can appreciate the intention behind the song. 2016 is a year that could really use some love. But the lyrics are a bit too vague for their own good. Instrumentation's fine, but doesn't do a lot for me some reason. Though this song picks up in a major way at Lin-Manuel Miranda's verse. That is my jam and singlehandedly made this song a lot better.

4. Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1
Probably only back because of other songs getting forced out to the recurring list. Already talked about it quite a few times. Not much has changed. It'll be gone next week.

5. You & Me
The intro to this song is legitimately captivating. It made me wonder what was coming next. But the rest was kinda disappointing. It's okay, I guess, but I feel like the reggae instrumentation takes away any punch this could've had. Still, not that bad. G-Eazy's verse is good though.

6. Duele El Corazon
Literally translates to "The Heart Hurts". It's Enrique Iglesias. He Enrique Iglesiases everywhere. What he's saying is probably insufferable. Rodrigo would know. Wisin's part is yelling. I personally don't have much of an opinion on this.

7. You Was Right
Well...it's better than "Money Longer". But it kinda confirms my suspicions that Lil Uzi Vert really has nothing unique to offer. The beat and flow are tired and each part just kinda blends into each other. Nothing really stands out. It's not awful like "Money Longer" I guess, but it's boring and not very memorable.

8. No Money
I've heard snippets of this before, and I knew it was only a matter of time before it crossed over. This seems like something I should like, but I don't. The tropical instrumentation's technically fine, but kinda overwhelming. But where this song really loses me is the vocals. It's sung by a ten year old boy. He's got talent and whatnot, but I don't really like how he sounds. Though I can see how someone would like this.

  1. Since it didn't appear at the bottom of your ranking, I'm assuming you didn't hear this line when you listened to You Was Right: "I'm going to f**k your sister then make sure that she vanish."
