New and Returning Entries Ranked

1. Scared To Be Lonely

Only back because of the max exodus of old songs and the Big Sean album bomb. But still, I'll take it while it's still here. Fantastic use of atmosphere and tense vocals through and through.

2. Shining

So it turns out Beyoncé and Jay-Z are still together. That's nice. So is this song. Good, classy R&B/hip hop. Not much to say, just really fun and enjoyable.

3. Black

Glad to see this back. May not be the most country thing on the Hot 100, but it's a rush.

4. Hurricane

Possibly leans a little to much on the bro side of country for some people, but I don't have a problem. It's a love song with plenty of gravitas and emotion, and I think it'll be a little more memorable for that. I welcome this into my life.

5. The Fighter

Seems this is officially a single now. Also Grammy's push, so there's that. Not bad, in fact it actually sounds pretty good, but it's barely country and Carrie Underwood's misused. Eh, minor problems.

6. It Ain't Me

People were going nuts over this song on Twitter prior to it charting. And yeah, it's decent. The melody is pleasant and Selena actually gives a good performance. I wouldn't call it fantastic, but it's well put-together.

7. Helium

I'll take it. Piano ballad, has some emotion, Sia's performance is good. Wouldn't consider it amazing, but considering this was a Fifty Shades song, it exceeded my expectations.

8. Bom Bidi Bom

This song sounds like mid-2000's post grunge. I get what it's going for with the spacey vibe, but it's pretty grimy, making it less sexy than it wants to be. Could be better. Though Nick's performance is good.

9. Sex With Me

"Love On The Brain" is in the Top 10, you can go now.

10. Everyday

Okay, /now/ I'm with the people who would've really rather "Greedy" be released as a single. I didn't really like this when I listened through "Dangerous Woman", and not much has changed. Future and Ariana have no chemistry. Everything is overproduced. Releasing this as a single was a mistake.

11. Yeah Boy

My problem with "Dibs" was that it was too obnoxious. My problem with this is it feels too flat. Nothing really pops or evolves in this, it just kinda plods along. Even the vocal melody feels like it's just anchored in D# throughout. Not horrible, just kinda boring. And a huge letdown after "Peter Pan".

12. El Amante

It's possibile I overreacted when this song first debuted. But it's still not good. It's bitter and stiff. Still don't like.

13. Everything 1K

The lyrics about the soldiers and stuff feel really out of place in this dull, meaningless, dull dull song. Kodak Black no bueno.

14. Héroe Favorito

I don't like this guy's voice. Singlehandedly ruined the song for me.

15. Cold

Well, it sounds more like a real band could've made it. Maybe. But it's still not good. Pissy lyrics, kinda boring tropical instrumentation, throwaway Future verse. Better than "Don't Wanna Know" because it sounds like more effort went into it, but not by much.

16. Cash Me Outside

Trap remixes of random memetic statements are a dime a dozen on YouTube. And they usually aren't this boring. #BadMemeRemix

17. Chained To The Rhythm

A song about being hypnotized by pop culture. From one of the biggest definers of pop culture in the early 2010s. So the message sounds incredibly hypocritical coming from her. And I hate that chorus. So much.

18. Rolex

It's clear these guys are biting off Rae Sremmurd's style. They basically sound like pitch shifted versions of those guys. And they're trying to make a "challenge" out of this. And it's probably going to work. Sigh...
